We celebrated Judy's birthday with an all glamed up dinner... nice.. any chance for me to dress up!!! I'm sure in for it... but of course it was the birthday gal's request for all her guest to glam it up :) I was just making her happy... wink..NOT..making me happy ....hehhe

We had dinner at Graze at 1 Rochester, cool place to chill and food was heavenly if I may add.. The company made it better of course. I have known Judy for as over 10 years now.. way way back when we were younger n a little more hyper than now.. shhh.. our lil' secret. All grown up n more sensible, I am very glad to have Judy as a friend, she's a sweetheart.. love ya babe.

All of us too busy with our food.. we didn't even realize Yana was taking a picture of us..

The dessert platter was just so GOOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!! Judy being in the F&B industry knows the chef and guess what..he created this dessert sampler.. not 1 but 2 plates of it especially for the party!!!! My personal favorite was the lychee sorbet..

Ahhhhhh.......... beautiful Dubai... land of the Sheikhs.. oh well, I made the best of my stay in Dubai, there's always something new for me to visit every time i am there... this time i went to Wild Wadi Water Theme Park, situated next to the all so famous 7 star hotel Burj- Al- Arab..

See how high and long it is.. something funny happened.. my turn came and d guard told me to lie down straight with my feet crossed and my hands across my chest..listening very carefully to him, i was all set..crossed everthing so tightly including my gut.. shut my eyes..and.. i started to scream loud..and i wondered as i screamed ..hmm..not that scary huh??? o splashing of water.. no intestine flying off..hmmm.. i actually can handle it..until...a tap on my shoulder and the guard said "miss..miss.. u haven't go down yet..i push u now...." and in a split second...Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YES..WATER SPLASHED MY FACE AND I SWORE MY GUT N PIECES OF MY INTESTINE WENT FLYING AROUND!!!!!! and NO, i still cannot handle rides..

Out of context.. look what i found in the shop there..hmm... anything familiar people??? i'll give u a hint...princess.... hehheh..

i had loads of fun.. the company made it better.. i wish i took more pictures of the ride but couldn't coz didn't wanna get my already screwed up camera wet plus.. was having way too much fun!!!!!!!

It was snowing like mad in Zurich.. one of the coldest winter I personally have experienced.. temperature was not that bad, -10 deg, but the chill of winter bites you to the very last nerve!!!! Everything was covered with snow.. so velvety n smooth.. it was superb!! Hmmm... reminds me of New York ( Yana..u will agree..)

I remember my late grandmother as someone who showered me with love.. cuddling me every minute of the day, i even called her Mak..heheh.. she took care of me when my mum was at work, my mum tells me that I was like my grandma's shadows.. following her everywhere she goes.. till this day, when I close my eyes, I would be drifted back to when I am in her arms, cuddled by her.. she singing to me.. I could smell her.. the softness of her cheeks when mine is pressed against hers.. the tenderness of her hands stroking my hair. She was taken to a better place when I was 2 n half years old in 1981 at 60 years old due to complications of cancer.Her last few meals that she craved for was tongue and brain soup which my grandfather was more than willing to get it for her.. she slipped into a coma for 4 days and later she return to Allah ta'alla. My grandfather would visit her every day with me tagging along of course, I would lay by her side every single time I am at her ward.. I don't remember all those thou, even when my mum carried me to have the last ritual of showering my late grandma's body before burial.. perhaps I was only meant to remember her with only the good times. I asked for her every now and then according to my mum.. I miss her. The blissfull marriage of my granparents lasted for 35 years till her passing, my grandfather was in utter shock that the love of his life is gone forever...he visited her grave almost everyday. I understood the power of LOVE thru this...

51st Grammy Awards is around the corner honoring the best in the music industry.. what does music means to you?? To me .. a HELL LOT!!!!!

I remember when I was probably 9 years old, I was at my aunt's kitchen and there she was listening and singing to the song that was being played on the radio, I have been exposed to music at a young age but i have never seen this before.. that joy on my aunt's face..the laughter and her out of tune-ness and forgetting the lyrics (just so u know..I'm like that too.. I can't sing to save my life!!!) I looked at her and it puzzled me how a song can turn my introvert aunt to someone that beams with such joy within minutes..I looked at her and cannot understand why she is acting weird.

I was 11 years old when I got the hand down of the transistor radio from the kitchen to my room.. I was freakin elated.. my own radio..ahhh..in my room..it was constantly on till I go to bed. I still remember the radio station back then.. 98.7fm Perfect 10. Every song that came out of my radio nestled my ear with such melody that i could not describe!! Music was my constant company.. having an elder brother, well.. let's just say we always either end up in fights or not talking to each other.. heheh..we were young then, so silly.. strangely, music always manage to magically link my brother and me. He was lucky, he got the radio from the living room..bigger..way way better.. the kind that has not 1 but TWO cassette slots!!!!!!! We would record songs from the radio.. what's worse, we would record our version of Vanilla Ice- Ice Ice Baby, Bon Jovi, Sinead O'connor... gosh so many silly songs... and mind you.. my brother totally knew all the lyrics.. I tend to more often than not humm my way till the end :(

Music never left me since.. from cassette to walkman (u remember those dun u...heh) to CDs to MTV to iTunes..

As days goes by, I have learned to express my feelings through music.. I dance to music, get angry... be sad...happy...mad...LOVE..all through music.

Finally I get to feel what my aunt felt many many years back.. that tingle when your favorite song is on air that makes you wanna sing out loud or head bang to a Guns N Roses classic..or feeling the groove to a soulful song.. or that ache your heart feels when a sad song plays..

Music is a part of me.. I"m glad I have learned to appreciate, love and most of all enjoy it.

Today Aruk n myself went to watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button... It was very Forest Gump.. fictional.. oh well, any chance to see Brad Pitt looking old n still looking HOTTT..why not right?? hehhe.. I shall not give to much away, I'm sure everybody knows it is about a man who was born old n well.. he gets younger as days goes by.., must watch coz there no way you could get this analogy unless you catch the show.. plus, let me remind u again..BRAD PITT is in it.. keep your eyes peeled for when Benjamin aka Brad ride on his vintage bike with his white tee n leather jacket.. hair blown back by the gust of wind as he ride.. oohhh..n he has his Ray Ban aviator on.. that only spells SEXY!!! Story line was fine, few comic relief here and there.. plus with 13 nomination in the upcoming Oscars .. Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director.. just to name a few... how NOT to watch this movie?? This movie is an adaptation of a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.. I personally have not read the book but I'm liking the movie better..and ya all know its becoz of who ;) wink

Okay....here it goes... I CUT MY HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those who have known me for a while would have seen me in my short do before.. but they have never seen me this way i bet coz ..oh well, i kept my curls.. yes yes.. i have natural curly wurly hair. Funny how it seems huh.. im born with curls, spent a whole lot of $$$ to straighten it but most of the time i would thong it to get that curly look.. yikes... IM CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!! hahhah

That's all history now since i have my natural curls back.

So here we are again... two best friends chopping it off and having new looks.. or in our case.. it's actually two best friends had absolutely nothing better to do n was so so bored that we decided to chop it off... yeah..thats more like it...

I spent Chinese New Year Eve in Hong Kong..how uncanny right??hahhaha... anyways, spent it with great peeps.. we went for a declicious steamboat, thanks to Danny for making the arrangements.. it was quite cold in Hong Kong, but we stuck it up ang had one of the greatest reunion dinner ever.. next best to a traditional family dinner.

I had a blast in San Francisco.. met up with a good friend of mine, Augie Chang.. he is a darling.. always as sweet as ever.. well, it helps that Augie is on break now so he is not busy at all to entertain me..hehehe..thks augie :)

Let me tell you all more about Augie..... Augie Chang is a fantabolous wedding photographer that is very well known in the bay area..go check out augiechang.com..oh thrust me ..you will fall in love with his work!! I have known Augie for a while now.. haven't seen him for a bit so my last trip to San Francisco, i went bonkers that our schedule really worked n we could meet..well, Augie was really on holiday mood coz the next day he left for a snowboarding trip in Canada..hmmmppphhh... lucky devil u!!

Oh well.. I had a really good time..and im singing this out loud: "I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Venice is superhot during this time and it sure doesn't help that it's infested with tourist just like me!!!! look at the amount of people streaming in front of me walking in the small little lane.

Italian version of a sampan!!!!!!! they called it gondola.

Back in Milan.. it's still hot..as ever.. so we decided to have watermelons for desserts!! it was by far the perfect food for the weather!! a total life saver.. we tried to eat it with all that glam.. eating it with knife and fork ...

AGGGRRHHHHH......... forget it la!!! Whack the watermelon theonly way it should be eaten.. like a caveman!!!!hahahah..

At the crack of dawn.. yes.. way way early in the morning, well, at least for me it is!! Around 6.45am, we met up and head to the main train station in Milan to catch the train to Venice. this picture taken with my cheap casio digital camera.. not bad huh?? Baby.. proud of me?? hehhe.. and who says u need pro camera to shoot good pictures?? perhaps the skills lies with the cameraman.. or my case, camerawomen :) *wink *

All of us inside our 2nd class carriage :( we didn't book our tickets earlier so no seats were allocated to us!! " Just seat anywhere that's empty.." the lady at the ticket booth told us.. and so we did exactly that!! Thank god the train wasn't full. heheh..thou we were smarter coz we bought the tickets for the return trip too thus having seats allocated to us..

The first scene that capture syour eyes when you stepped out of the station!! BEAUTIFUL and BREATHTAKING VENICE!!! Everywhere is covered with water!! no cars or lorries... even teh bus an dtaxi are boats!! water bus and taxis!!

my darling being a movie buff.. that was the first thing he did after we took off... movies all the way.. he probably slept like 1/2hr max and back to movie land he went.. hhmmmm..

look at his face.. he is totally concentrating on the movie.. wonder if he knows that im beside him???

okay.. he totaly forgot about me.. poor thing me.. trying real hard to get his attention.. totally failed.

his eyes never left the screen!!! i have officially lost my husband to the movie land..

then came saturday.. it was the lunch reception.. . now, my darling aruk decided to bring me to Milan on holiday, the flight departs that same saturday night.. and what's more fantastic?? Yana will be on the flight!! the only problem was that since the trip was kinda last minute, we were put on standby tickets.. meaning..only 40mins before the aircraft doors are closed, that's when we will know if we get on the flight!!!

so here we are waiting at the check -in counter.. oh gosh.. that 25 mins wait to see if we get onboard was the longest and most suspense- filled 25 mins EVER!!!!!

alas.. we made it!! aruk was all ready to sleep.. and so did i.. had a long day :)

okay.. let me explain myself on why i have not been updating my blog.. hehehe.. well, my good fren just got hitched 2 weekend ago.. it was definitely a gala affair!! of course, the newlyweds looked AWESOME!!! and i have to admit.. so did i. hehehe... well, we do have to take pride in how we look right??

and so did my other galfrens..

here we are with our hubby.. they smarten up pretty well too...

last but not least, my aruk.. who looked absolutely dashing in his suit!!!

the dinner was held on Friday night.. we had loads of fun and all of us actually wanted to go out after the dinner but we backed out coz by the time we had to head home to change and go out again.. the party would be over!! so in the end, myself and aruk met aide n ez swenson's to have our supper and my favourite ice- cream.. got home around 3am. nice way to end the day...

Today is the last day of The Great Singapore Sale.. so was taking advantage of the last minute offers that's in store!! Well, just an update, I'm renovating my mum's kitchen, a gift to her..aawww!!!!!! so sweet right??!! So that's when the GSS comes in handy coz I manage to get very good deals on kitchen hob n hood!!! heeheee.. a little something for the many big things she had done for me.. LOVE YOU MA ;)

Anyways, right after that, we head to town to meet my sis-in-law and jamie for dinner.. we had indonesian food at Sanur... yummy!!!

helooo peeps... just got back from NYC!! The Big Apple..The city that never sleeps..whatever u might call it..to me, it's my most favourite fantabolous city in the world!! NYC was super hot, really getting into the swing of summer. i got in NYc on the 12th July only 1 day after the worldwide launch of the new 3G iphone, went straight to Apple store only to be disappointed by 1. the long queue( some queued for 4hrs) 2. that u have to have US social security number AND must sign up to AT&T immediately to activate the iphone..long story short..no way in this lifetime could i get my hands on iphone from the US..just have to wait till it arrives in Singapore...moving along.....

I woke up early this today..around 9.30am.. just in time to watch my fav talkshow ELLEN. Besides having David Cook as 1 of her guest and watching him sing with his husky..sexy.yummy..voice, i saw something VERY interesting which i thot could be applied to our lives here no matter how little.

So, there was this other guest..( which i totally forgot his name ) ok, he is very into changing the world into a better place to live in just my doing simple act of kindness without expecting any favour in return or for that matter of fact..EXPECT ANYTHING IN RETURN!!! Ellen n the Prof. challenged the whole audience to do exactly that the last time she had him on the show n a month later, the same group of audience were invited back to the set where they each shared their act of kindness. You'll be surprised at what little n simple things they did like there was this lady, all she did was to stepped out of her comfort zone n engage a conversation with a homeless person!! I saw the glow on her face when she said that. I was touched and totally blown away by this.

Now, let me relate my own experience of an act of kindness. I tend to be lazy n valet my car at Marriott Hotel at Orchard Road most of the time when I go for my weekly visits to town, n I usually would buy the valet guys some cut fruits at the end of the day when im ready to collect my car ( building some good P.R sills or what!! ). Well, there was this 1 time, it was so hot like maybe 32 degrees when the sun feels like its just above your head kinda hot.. as usual, i got my spot.. but we ( yana was with me) noticed besides the heavy incoming traffic to the hotel, both the valet guys and the doormen with seat dripping of their face literally!! Both of us then decided to get all of them a nice icy cold drink f watermelon juice downstairs.

When we passed them the drinks, that grateful smile on their face was so worth the effort we made.. they drank the juice with an AAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! at the end.

Now, let's do this, do a random act of kindness to a stranger, see how it feels.. i manage to include my hubby in this act.

The world sure don't mind that extra surge of love n kindness.so keep it coming!!

Dan n myself, we used to stay in a beautiful black n white colonial house..( promise i will post the pix of my old house next time ) .. n that was when we met this lovebirds, Jason & Jennifer..well, that was the beginning of our endless affair of bbq, food, scrabble n laughter everytime we have a gathering..we have since moved but still do meet up for more fun filled gatherings!!

Today, class kinda ended earlier then expected, so Dan decided to go to the airport to have early dinner n wait till 6pm for the counter to open so we could collect our share option cert..that was at 4pm.. so thankfully, i was able to arrange a quick but never tiring meeting with Yana before she report for flight at 4.50pm.. yep, saw her for 15mins only..enuf to curb me of missing her for the next 10 days!!

After that, we had dinner at the foodcourt...chicken again( i really dunno whats wif me, but eating chix almost everyday!!wasn't a big fan of the feathered frens before!??!!) anyways, after makan, we still had 45mis before 6pm.. so we were walking aimlessly passing the foodcourt, we bump into Jen n Naim. They were waiting for Jason, so we waited together, since we do have ALOT of time left. Jason arrived shortly..so did 6pm, thankfully!! We did our stuff and head bk home.

Reached home already, Naim called me asking if we wanna catch a movie with them which of course we glady said YES!! ( my darling aruk n me are movie buffs..n tues are ur designated movie nites)...talk abt perfect timing!!

We caught Hancock!!FANTABOLOUS!!!!!!!!!!! Muz watch..really some unexpected scenes, u will laugh, scream, laugh again.. maybe shed a tear or two, small scream..and laugh yet again. U know some movies, give u this "feel good" feeling when ur heart juz fuzzles up when u the movie ends?? hancock have that effect, at least on me, cant speak 4 the rest thou.

After the movie saga, we headed to the lovebirds' palace at seleter for yet another gathering..fun as always!!

We had to end the nite early, unfortunately... but, lookong forward to the 18/07 wer we've already planned for the next feast!! yes, i will post pix!!

most of d batch at my house..

miz all of them, spent 3 weeks with this bunch of loonies, laughing myself off the chair almost everyday..

7 of us were rostered for some cooking class, yesterday n today.. 6 of them is enuf to make me go bonkers!!!!!! hahahahaa..thou i enjoyed every min of it. linda n flo shared very good news wif me..waitin for d cake to bake in oven!!!!!!!yipee..can't wait!!

aft class, flo, woo san san aka 533 n vanatana d stlylo milo n me went to town 4 some light shopping n makan.

oh my..oh my..sale stil goin on everywer, hard 4 me to HOLD BACK!!!!! well, i thot of contributing 2 singapore's economy but d GUCCI belt i wanted dun hv my size!!!! aggrrrhhhh!!!!

of course aruk aka my darling husband was there 2 witness my disappointment with a slight smirk in his face, thou he too was lookin out for belts..to no avail.

anyways, i had fun wif d gals n thk u ladies 4 re-living our fun 3 weeks 2gether..miz u all already.
